Mid-Century Italian Desk with Return in Mahogany and Maple with Turquoise Top
Attributed to Gustavo & Vito Latis, desk with a return, mahogany, maple, formica, Italy, circa 1960
Made in Italy, this writing desk with return is a testament to the design ethos prevalent in the mid-20th century, particularly during the 1950s and 1960s. Made by Gustavo & Vito Latis, this office table stands as a testament to their expertise in woodwork and composition. The top is beautifully shaped with converged and diverged angles dominating the layout. The formica top is executed in a vibrant blue turquoise color. Under the table top and on the left side are drawers situated. Exquisite in its execution, the base features beautifully carved tapered feet, with stretchers that converge in the middle to form a composition of sharp, diagonal lines. All in all, this Italian design is defined by precise scaling and harmonious interplay of various structural elements executed in the finest materials.
Please note that this set is a large desk with smaller desk that functions as a return. The small desk is not high enough to use as a desk. The desks are in good, used condition with some scratches and small stains on the top. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
