Spanish Pair of Armchairs in Cognac Leather and Oak
Pair of lounge chairs, leather, brass, oak, Spain, 1960s.
These lounge chairs originate from Spain and stylistically refer to the late 19th century Revival period. The construction of the base resembles the chair known in Spanish as "Sillon de Caderas" (Hip-Joint). The seat has a concave shape while the back is built of a convex shape, which enhances the chair's grandiose and stately look. The cognac leather is secured with round nail-heads to the frame. The sculpted armrests embody curvaceous lines and spherical endings. With the presence of spots, scratches and traces on the leather, this pair carries real uniqueness and distinctiveness.
Please note that these items are in good, used condition. The leather is patinated and shows signs of age and wear, just like the frames. The signs of wear and age are common for pieces this age.
