Robert Haussmann for De Sede Set of Four Armchairs in Cognac Leather
Robert Haussmann for De Sede, set of four dining chairs, model 'RH-304', leather, chrome-plated steel, Switzerland, ca. 1950.
This cantilevered set of tufted chairs with leather padded armrests is designed by Robert Haussmann for De Sede. The set has a business aesthetic combined with a comfortable seat and back. This set distinguishes itself by means of a high, tall back. The tufted leather chairs have a graphic, abstract feel which is achieved by means of the repetitive pattern that form the aesthetic core of this set of chairs.
De Sede once started as a saddler's workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. Slowly, the company widened their scope and committed themselves to transforming the best possible leather into seating furniture. In 1965 the family-run business grew into a professional company and their name was De Sede AG. De Sede products are detail-obsessed and are completely made and focused on the people who use them. Therefore, all the DeSede items are made out of the best materials which results in durability and comfort.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This item contains some threadbare upholstery with wear, tears, and dry texture of the leather. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
