Sale price$16,700.00

Willy Rizzo for Laboratori Ob-Or Luminating Roma, floor lamp, stainless steel, chrome-plated steel, Italy, 1970s

This floor lamp is designed by Italian designer Willy Rizzo in the early 1970s. The design is mainly carried out through a repetition of cylindrical shapes executed in stainless steel, which enriches the overall strong character of the lamp. When the lamp is lit, the light shines through the openings, reflecting the surface in a delightful manner, leaving a shimmering and glowing effect. This lighting object is a great example where artistry and great craftsmanship go hand in hand.

Willy Rizzo (1928-2013), born in Naples, was a celebrity and Hollywood photographer. His models include Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn. At a later stage in life, Rizzo discovered that his clientele loved his particular aesthetics and sense for style so much that he decided to design furniture. Often his design where commissions from for example Salvador Dali or Marilyn Monroe. From the end of the 1960s onwards, Rizzo designed about 30 different furniture pieces.
