Lips Vago 'Triennal' Bookcases or Shelving System
Lips Vago, 'Triennale' set of four shelving units or bookcases, dark green lacquered steel, Italy, design 1954
Constructed from steel sheets, the 'Triennale' bookcase or shelving unit is designed in 1954 for the Triennale Milano. A sturdy yet unassuming bookcase that can be used on either side, making it a versatile addition to any space. The metal sheets at the end of the shelf are placed upwards, doubling as bookends, are decorated by the absence of the inner part, in a circular shape. The shelf is created by Lips Vago, a merger between Italian blacksmith company Vago and Dutch locker company Lips, which designed models for archives and libraries.
The items are in good, used condition. On some parts there are some scratches visible due to use and age of these shelving units. If desired, restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
