Italian Mid-Century Modern Sofa in Ash and Black Leather
Sofa, stained ash, leather, Italy, 1970s
This large streamlined sofa truly intensifies the experience of sitting itself and is a standout in any modern room. The framework is well-designed featuring clear lines and geometrical shapes and strongly reminds of the 'Bastiano' series by Afra & Tobia Scarpa designed in 1960. In absence of decorative details, the design convinces visually through the well-balanced appearance and the stabile construction. The rectangular shaped wooden frame holds the cushions which are executed in black leather. This piece contains two settees which can be placed solitary in a space, and for this reason can be arranged to one's liking.
Please note that the leather contains wear and loose seams. The frame exhibits scratches. Reupholstery or restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery or restoration is possible as well.
