Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi Set of Six Dining Chairs in Walnut
Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, set of six dining chairs, walnut, leather, Italy, 1970s
An exceptional set of chairs by the Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi, featuring a high level of craftsmanship in woodwork. The chairs are architecturally built based on the assemblage of parts through sophisticated wood joints and pins. The decorative aspect of the wood joints makes them not only necessary for the construction but also has a strong visual impact on the design itself. High quality walnut has been used to construct the chairs, which has a fine warm tone. The seating area and backrest are accompanied by removable brown leather cushions, providing a comfortable and ergonomic seating experience.
Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
Please note that the leather cushions contain tears and cracks, with some of them lacking buttons. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
