Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi Cabinet in Walnut
Giuseppe Rivadossi, cabinet, walnut, Italy, 1970s
This striking cabinet by Giuseppe Rivadossi pleases the eye by all means. The body of this piece is composed of large panels of walnut wood and small and elegant handles on both doors. Under the top there are two drawers situated in the center of the piece. This design offers a nice amount of storage space behind the two doors, with three shelves for keeping belongings. This piece is beautiful in its design and choice of materials, clearly visible in the rich and smooth walnut used to produce this piece.
Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
