French Art Deco Pair of Dining Chairs in Oak and Red Upholstery
Pair of dining chairs, oak, leatherette, France, 1930s/1940s
These French dining chairs employ the stylistic traits of the French Art Deco in the period of the 1930s and 1940s. In addition, the design reminds of the works by French master Charles Dudouyt. The carved elements are truly exceptional and define the piece, discernible in the rear legs and the backrest. A small but noticeable detail are the rounded wood joints through which the backrest is attached. The red upholstery beautifully complements the warm hue of the oak.
Please note that the upholstery is in fair condition with minor tears. In addition, the padding needs to be restored. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
