Carl-Axel Acking ‘Trienna’ Lounge Chair in Oak and Patinated Leather
Carl-Axel Acking for Nordiska Kompaniet, lounge chair model ‘Trienna’, oak, leather, Sweden, designed in 1957
This characteristic lounge chair was designed by the Swedish architect and furniture designer Carl-Axel Acking in 1957. The chair’s name 'Trienna' derived from the fact that it was displayed at the 11th Triennale di Milano in 1957. Due to the striking design and great comfort, the ‘Trienna’ turned out to become Acking’s most famous design. A frame in oak with strong lines keeps the leather seat and backrest in place. Brass nails are used to fixate the patinated cognac leather that is tied around the frame in bold lines.
Please note that this chair is in good, used condition and shows a heavily patinated seat and backrest, common for pieces this age.
