Arne Vodder Set of Six Dining Chairs in Walnut and Grey Upholstery
Arne Vodder for Sibast Møbler, set of six dining chairs model '418', walnut, fabric, Denmark, 1960s
This model has a characteristic, sculptural frame executed in warm walnut. The slightly tapered legs with round finishes create an overall sturdy appearance. The seat is upholstered in grey fabric that enhances the chair's modest and calm appearance. These chairs are absolutely stunning in their simplicity. Yet they are designed with high attention to detail, as seen in the construction and wood joints.
Arne Vodder (1926-2009) was one of the most influential Scandinavian midcentury designers. Once an architecture student of famous furniture designer Finn Juhl at Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Arne Vodder opened his own studio together with Anton Borg in 1950. Vodder collaborated with different furniture makers such as Fritz Hansen and Bovirke.
Please note that the fabric is in good, used condition with signs of age and use, including wear. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
