Vittorio Rossi and Luciano Bertoncini for Cjfra 'Zattera' Bed
Vittorio Rossi and Luciano Bertoncini for Cjfra, 'Zattera' bed, fabric, lacquered wood, brass, chrome-plated steel, Italy, 1970s
This extraordinary bed, created through the collaboration of Vittorio Rossi and Luciano Bertoncini, captures the essence of the post-modern Italian 1970s. The bed showcases a low-profile rectangular shape with a perimeter framed by modular, padded sections that can double as seating surfaces. Its minimalist and geometric design is accentuated by the modular upholstered edges that form a continuous border around the mattress. When lifting the dark blue fabric panels, hidden storage compartments are present that are integrated within the bed's rectangular base. Both sides are equipped with spherical bed lamps. A bed that dares to stand out, this cutting-edge design leaves a bold impression while staying effortlessly practical.
