This elegant sideboard is designed according to the stylistic principles of the so-called Swedish Grace style. The corpus features intricate geometric carvings with squares and diagonal lines decorating the front. The truly exceptional base consists of four spiral carved legs in a long format. The open construction balances out the heaviness of the body. This highboard serves as a testament to the artistry and impeccable craftsmanship of the designer.
Swedish Grace is the term for a romantic style that was followed in Sweden in the 1920s. It celebrated the rebirth of neoclassicism in subtle forms. It is characterized by simple, highly elegant forms. The pieces of that time were hand-crafted unique pieces with the use of high-quality materials. Most-known designers of the Swedish Grace are amongst others Axel Einar Hjorth and Carl Malmsten.
