Sigurd Resell and Adolf Relling Pair of Bambi Lounge Chairs in Teak Leather
Sigurd Resell and Adolf Relling at Rastad & Relling Design Office for Gustav Bahus Eftf., pair of armchairs from the 'Bambi' series, model '56/2', teak, saddle leather, Norway, design 1955
Norwegian designers Sigurd Resell and Adolf Relling collaborated to create this lounge chair as part of the Bambi line. The design embodies the core principles of Scandinavian design. The craftsmanship is exceptional, evident in the flawless wood joints and the meticulously carved finishes. Intersecting angles and the thoughtful use of negative space give the chair a light, airy appearance, with outwardly extending legs and sweeping armrests that seamlessly flow into the backrest supports. Both the seat and backrest are made of cognac saddle leather, stretched tightly across the frame. Its serene appearance and understated elegance are harmoniously paired with ergonomic support.
