Rare Ico Parisi for Fratelli Rizzi Cabinet in Chestnut with Mirror
Ico Parisi for Fratelli Rizzi, Intimiano, cabinet, a desk from the same series referenced under cat. no, '1950.56', chestnut, mahogany, brass, mirrored glass, Italy, 1950
This highly refined sideboard is designed by the acknowledged master of Italian midcentury design Ico Parisi (1916-1996). His design language is characterized by expressive, lines and grained wood, reflecting his excellent taste for form and harmonic compositions. This specific model is rare and hardly ever present itself on the market. The highboard is the result of Parisi's architectural sensibility constructed in a precise manner with geometric forms and well-conceived proportions that constitute its design. The cabinet is perfectly suited for storage, with its compartments equipped with drawers, shelves, and shelving system. In addition, the tabletop conceals a compartment that can be accessed through a mirrored panel. By placing a chair in front of the piece, the cabinet can be simultaneously used as a dressing / vanity table. The door panels are comprised of vertical slats interspersed with engraved slats, allows for its immediate recognition as a creation of Parisi.
