Marco Zanuso for Arflex 'Fourline' Chair in Black Leather
Marco Zanuso for Arflex, lounge chair, black leather, steel, Italy, 1964
This lounge chair by Zanuso remains among the best examples of armchairs designed by the architect. It is not only the ingenious slender design that distinguishes it, but also the experimental elements and technical methods that went into these chairs. Zanuso does not abandon his path as an experimenter with this object, on the contrary. Yet it is also aimed at the new rich who want to indulge in a certain laziness, may that be with a technical touch. The design won a golden medal at the XIII Milan Triennal. The combination of the dark leather and chrome is a classic, fitting combination.
Kindly note that the leather is in good, used condition. The foam of the leather needs to be replaced and the surface contains scratches. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
