Magnus Stephensen for Cabinet maker Clausen, armchair, beech, woven seaweed, leather, Denmark, circa. 1933

This armchair is designed by Danish architect Magnus Læssøe Stephensen (1903-1984). The designer focused on the creation of a chair that combined functionality with an aesthetically pleasing layout for daily use. This unique design has a splendid construction that epitomizes a simplistic, natural and timeless aesthetics. The seat itself can be adjusted in its angle which allows the user to position the back in a desired position. The curved armrests gracefully develop into straight shaped legs that underline the essence of the design. The seat is executed in woven seaweed, which adds a rustic touch to the piece of furniture.
