Sale price£11,623.75

Lova Creation, coffee table, brass, metal, wood, agate, Belgium, 1987

This luxurious side table by Lova Creation is a dazzling eyecatcher. The golden square tabletop is signed and shows a pattern of large abstract brush strokes. The center is inlayed with a large piece of dark blue to black colored agate. Due to the artistic use of materials and texture combinations, the table has a strong decorative character and hits the border between art and furniture. An astonishing coffee table that radiates an alluring, chic aesthetic. The table is signed and dated.

In the 1970s, a trend of decorative arts arose in Brussels. Some key-designers were Aldo Chale, Georges Mathias, Willy Daro and Lova Creation. Their style was characterized by the use of gemstones as a decorative element and the usage of gold as the primary color. The classical technique of etching was highly applied on their design for coffee and cocktail tables.
