Large Set of Ten Danish Armchairs in Walnut
Set of ten armchairs, walnut, fabric, Denmark, 1960s.
A lovely and large set of dining chairs with armrests in a rich walnut, made in Denmark in the 1960s. The frame of this chair is sculpturally shaped based on an organic movement featuring impressive, curved lines and round corners. The style of this set is characterized by simplified lines, absence of decoration and the use of neutral materials that are in great harmony. The wood joints and sculpted frame proof the great eye for detail and high-level of craftsmanship this dining chair is exemplary for. The olive-green colored upholstery beautifully matches with the warm tone of the walnut, which contributes to the chairs’ natural look. This set shows strong resemblances with the design of Hans J. Wegner’s chair model ‘JH-509’ for Johannes Hansen and produced in 1950s.
Please note that these chairs are in good, used condition. The fabric shows some threadbare parts and stains. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
