Josef Frank (1885-1967) was an Austrian architect. He studied architecture at the Kunstgewerbeschule. He started out by designing public housing and social architecture. Although at the beginning of his career he was one of the frontrunners of the Vienna modern school, he soon turned away from the modernist, purist dogmas and instead pursued a more free, creative and human style ideal. He developed his own path of modernism in which a sense of home, vibrant colors and comfortable usage were at the core. Frank was already 50 years old when he fled Nazi Germany for Sweden. Here, he started to collaborate with Svenskt Tenn and designed fabrics and furniture amongst other and became one of the leading designers in Sweden.

Please note that the item is in good, used condition. It shows traces of wear and use on the fabric.
