1950s Mid-Century Modern Italian Pair of Wingback Chairs in Off-White Upholstery
Pair of easy chairs, fabric, wood, Italy, 1950s.
This Classic Italian Postwar wingback chair has an unusually high back and gracious wings that contain dramatized pointed corners. The armrests feature the same pronounced curves that give the utmost comfort for the sitter. The seat is upholstered in a delicate fabric that shows a decorative pattern of flora and fauna motifs. The design strongly resembles the chairs done by Paolo Buffa for the Hotel Bristol in Merano, Italy around 1950.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This item contains some threadbare upholstery with discoloration, stains and tears. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
