This beautiful ‘Paolina’ lamp was designed by the Italian architect Ignazio Gardella in 1957. The gorgeous shade is created in a frosted moulded glass. Due to the wonderful satin textured shade of the pendant, a beautifully muted light is created. Moreover, the shade has nice and sleek shape that adds elegance to the lamp. Additionally, the brass ceiling plate detail, finishes the overall gracefulness of the ‘Paolina’ pendant.

Ignazio Gardella (1905-1999) was an Italian designer and architect. He grew up in a Genovese family of architects since both his father and grandfather were also renowned architects. Today, Gardella is considered as a prominent member of the so-called third generation of the Italian Modern Movements, as well as the Italian Rationalism. During his career, he was a successful furniture and lighting designer and co-founder of the design and furniture manufacturing company Azucena.
