Horst Brüning for Kill International, daybed model 6915, chrome-plated steel, leather, Germany, 1960s

This well-designed daybed shows a solid construction of delicate lines and round edges. Most remarkable is the minimalist chrome frame that holds the patinated brown leather mattress in a graceful manner. The thin chrome slats develop into the legs, creating a nearly floating appearance. This feature specializes the design and highlights the great craftsmanship. Nothing touches, nothing clashes, which gives this piece of furniture a completely peaceful yet strong expression. A piece like this will stand the test of time.
