Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi Stools Patinated Leather & Brass
Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, stools, leather, brass, stained wood, Italy, 1970s
A robust stool or side chair, designed by Italian sculptor and artisan Giuseppe Rivadossi. Constructed from dark stained wood, the stool's sturdy frame is assembled using intricate joinery techniques that not only ensure lasting durability but also serve as a decorative element. The seat of the chair is made from leather which obtained a beautiful patina over the years. The leather is secured to the frame by means of brass studs, evocative of traditional Spanish chairs.
Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he continues to live and work. His journey with wood carving began at a young age, each piece embodying his poetic vision of life. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry business founded by his father, Clemente, in 1920, transforming it into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. In 1976, Rivadossi and his collaborators established ‘Officina Rivadossi’, where he began crafting unique wooden objects and modern furniture, blending artistry with craftsmanship.
Kindly note that the leather is in used condition, exhibiting visible wear marks and cracks. The placement of brass studs differs between the stools. Reupholstery or restoration can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery or restoration is possible as well.
