Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi Large Dining Table in Pine

Sale price£19,256.87

Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, dining table, pine, Italy, 1980s

Giuseppe Rivadossi once again proves his great eye for materialization and technicality this table is exemplary for. The table is architecturally built based on the assemblage of parts through sophisticated wood joints and pins. The decorative aspect of the wood joints makes them not only necessary for the construction but also has a strong impact on the design itself and showcases the high-level of craftsmanship this table has been made with. The top of the table falls into place on the legs through visible notches in the table top. When the top is placed onto the legs it is locked in place by the weight of the top and the construction of the table, making it very sturdy and interesting to see. A real masterpiece that will stand the test of time and serve as a standout in one's interior.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
