Gastone Rinaldi 'DU 24' Pair of Armchairs in Grey Leatherette and Metal
Gastone Rinaldi for Rima, pair of armchairs, model 'DU 24', metal, leatherette, Italy, 1956
These Italian postwar armchairs have a sculptural appearance due to the well-constructed tubular frame in metal. The style is simple and understated, where clean, fluent lines are allowed to emerge in the design. The tapered, sleek legs and the backrest that is supported by a bent metal frame give this pair an air of elegance and lightness, typical of Italian design. With the slightly tilted backrest and lengthy, geometrical armrests the chair invites the sitter to sit comfortably.
