Sturdy stool in beech made in France in the 1960s. This piece shows a beautiful patina formed over time by using A nice feature is the metal ring around the crux of the stool, providing sturdiness and a mix of materials. This piece strongly reminds of the furniture produced by 'Les Artisans de Marolles' in the 1950s and 1960s. A collective of woodworkers founded and directed by Jean Touret (1916-2004) in Marolles, France. Touret was known primarily as an artist and sculptor, who was very much inspired by his religious beliefs. After the period of 'Les Artisans of Marolles', he continued to dedicate his life to making religious works of art for many chapels and churches around France.
