Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet for Vibo, set of ten dining chairs, beech, rope hemp, France, late 1940s

Set of ten naturalistic dining chairs designed by Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. The seats are made of woven hemp from the abaca plant which is close to the species of the banana plant. This natural style is typical for the French design of Audoux-Minet and Vibo that established itself in Marseille. The backrest has an archetypal appearance and is made from four slats of wood for support. The blonde beech wood provides a modest, balanced background to the rough abaca of the seat.

Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet are a French designer couple. They mainly designed pieces during the 1940s and 1950s and their general ethos was to create furniture made of accessible materials. Therefore, in their designs, they often opted for different kinds of woods and natural ropes. With their furniture, they wanted to go against the wealthy character of design and make pieces that are more homespun and have a rustic feel.

Kindly note that the chairs are in good used condition with signs of age and use. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.

Giuseppe Rivadossi, dining table, pine, Italy, 1980s

Giuseppe Rivadossi once again proves his great eye for materialization and technicality this table is exemplary for. The table is architecturally built based on the assemblage of parts through sophisticated wood joints and pins. The decorative aspect of the wood joints makes them not only necessary for the construction but also has a strong impact on the design itself and showcases the high-level of craftsmanship this table has been made with. The top of the table falls into place on the legs through visible notches in the table top. When the top is placed onto the legs it is locked in place by the weight of the top and the construction of the table, making it very sturdy and interesting to see. A real masterpiece that will stand the test of time and serve as a standout in one's interior.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.

Dimensions of the table: H 75 cm W 261 cm D 90 cm.
