Danish Lounge Chair in Red Upholstery
Schiller Polstermøbler, lounge chair, fabric, beech, brass, Denmark, circa. 1950
This well-designed armchair was presented at the Manufacturers' Association's Furniture Fair in Fredericia in 1954. The design is based on a solid construction featuring delicate lines and shapes. The shell shaped backrest is created by elongated lines that diverge in a subtle manner and is further emphasized by piping. The back beautifully develops into the armrests resulting in a curved shape towards the ends. The easy chair invites you to spend more time on it due to its imposing, high backrest which is slightly titled. The presence of the bulky, round shaped armrests makes it possible to lay down your arms comfortably. The small, circular legs are in contrast with the grandly built corpus, creating this disharmonic look which makes this piece even have more visual excitement. The lounge chair radiates sophistication and is a perfect addition to your cozy reading corner.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This item contains threadbare upholstery with discoloration and a sizable stain. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
