Carl Malmsten (1888-1972), a Swedish architect and designer, gained significant recognition for his contributions to the Swedish Grace style. This design movement emerged during the 1920s, serving as a deliberate response to the opulent and ornate characteristics of the Art Nouveau movement. Central to the Swedish Grace style is simplicity, refined elegance, use of natural materials, functionality, and appreciation for nature and Swedish traditions and craftsmanship.
Please note that the canvas is in used condition with discoloration and stains. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
