This beautiful floor lamp features a cone-shaped aluminum foot in red colored metal. A thin stem in white color holds the bicolored shade. The beautiful brass handle under the shade can be used to tilt the lamp slightly, making it possible to direct the light beam in the desired direction. Due to the combination of white and red color together with the gold color of the brass handle, this lamp gets a striking look.

Guillerme et Chambron, 'Grand Repos' lounge chair, oak, white upholstery, oak, France, 1960s
Guillerme and Chambron are known for their high-quality solid oak furniture, from which this is another great example. This chair has an interesting, sculptural shape, the legs and armrests blend over into each other creating a gap between the seat and the armrest. The carved edges of the frame are delicate and make this pair a little more sophisticated than other designs by the duo. The back consists of spindles that hold the back cushion in a curved, comfortable position. The combination between the blond oak and the white upholstery is timeless, warm and stylish.

The French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) started their production Postwar. Many of the furniture designed by this duo this piece shows a strong character and has a great expressive woodwork. The duo installed themselves in an old factory were the machinery was used to make rifles. Guillerme & Chambron saw the potential of these machinery and decided to continue production as it was installed and used them for the design of their high back chairs. The line of different furniture pieces was made in small editions. They call their collection “Votre Maison” which means “Your home”.

Measurements of the chair: 112 x 90 x 95 cm (seat height 40cm).
