Carl Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs fot Huonekalu Mikko Nupponen, 'Välipala' bookcase, teak, wood, Finland, 1950s.
This bookcase is designed by the Finnish designer Carl Gustaf Hiort. The bookcase is built of several wooden elements in different colors, resulting in a clear, architectural piece. The base consists of three black tripod legs. On top of that is a thick teak plank that sticks out over the legs and can therefore function as a bench or plank that can be used as extra storage. On top of that is a white shelving and book case that is completely adjustable and can therefore be arranged in such a manner that the user will suit best.
