Gianfranco Frattini for Luci, pair of 'Abele' desk lamps, lacquered aluminum, iron, plastic, Italy, 1979
This pair of desk lamps in red lacquered aluminum was designed by Gianfranco Frattini. This 'Abele' lamp has a minimal and sleek design in true Italian style. The lamps have been designed to be placed on the side of the desk and illuminate the whole desktop.
Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) was an Italian designer and architect. Similarly to many other architects, Frattini became an interior and industrial designer because he missed the specific furnishings for his buildings. Frattini was a very skilled woodworker and was a student of Gio Ponti. His style can be defined by its architectural structure and playful lines.
