Carl Malmsten Pair of Nightstands in Beech

This modest set of nightstands is designed by the Swede Carl Malmsten. The tables feature an underlying shelf and rail with small drawer. The drawers are finished with a circular brass handle. At the back of the top of these tables is a small edge attached giving these stands a certain grandeur and architectural feel. The stands are manufactured by Bodafors.
Carl Malmsten (1888-1972) was a Swedish architect and designer. In the early 1900s, Malmsten already advocated the use of local materials and traditions. His main inspiration was nature itself and he designed gracious, functional pieces. Through their exquisite craftsmanship and functionality that they seem to have a timeless aesthetics.
