Knud Færch for Slagelse Møbelværk, 'cow horn' dining chairs model 521, oak, teak, fabric, Denmark, 1960s
Danish furniture designer Knud Færch (1924-1992) created the chair model 521 in the 1960s. What gives this particular model the nickname 'cow horn' is the way the combination of back, and armrest is designed with pointy, tapered ends that remind of a cow's horn. This version of six dining chairs is made in oak with the horizontal back, and armrest executed in teak. Eye-catching are the visible wooden joints that accentuate the great craftsmanship. Currently the seats are upholstered in a soft green fabric with a lined structure.
