Percival Lafer, 'MP-61' sofa, Brazilian hardwood, leather and fiberglass, Brazil, 1970s. Bulky MP-61 sofa, designed by Percival Lafer in the 1970s. This sofa consists of a fiberglass shell which is white lacquered. It holds the black leather seat, which is crinkled and bulky. The leather seat is attached to the shell with the quintessential wooden beads. The shell is resting on a crossed base made of wood. Percival Lafer began making furniture in the early 1960s. He had the true modernist view, and wanted to bring good and affordable design to everyone. His furniture is characterized by a modern and contemporary design in addition with solid hardwoods from Brazil.
