Side table, wood, copper, Nothern Europe, 1920s With the unique shape of the legs and thin layered copper this coffee table is a rare to find design. The black wooden base of the table consists out of a polygonal base with tapered legs. Each slat features a round gap from where the shape runs downwards ending in tapered legs. A thin layer of copper decorates the round tabletop. The floral motive is pressed into the copper layer, with an eleborate central design of plant leaves and flowers. Around it, on the outer edge of the tabletop, stylized roses can be found. These roses are repeated on the wooden base. With the combination of the flowing floral motives and contrasting clean-lined base, this sidetable is an interesting mix of styles, varying between the elegant Art Nouveau and the more geometrical Art Deco of the early 20th century.
