Belgian chandelier, iron, glass, Belgium, 1950s

This rare chandelier is admirable in by all means. Firstly the rather long stem that consists of three bars that are connected on top and bottom through arch-like connections. At the bottom six thin arms hold the spheres. An interesting contrast is created between the thick stem and the slim arms. The shape and choice of iron as a material awakes the association with the Art Deco period. At the same time it has organic features that characterize more 1950s influences. Either way this rare to find chandelier has an impressive size and unique design that results in great appearance.
