Norman Foster for Tecno, ‘Nomos’ dining or conference table, wood, metal, Italy, design 1986.

The ‘Nomos’ table designed by Norman Forster, manufactured by Tecno, is characterized by the stunning design of the base. Like Norman Foster said it in his own words “I have chosen to express the Nomos frame in an extrovert way, like a bike […].” The honesty of the construction catches the eye. Underneath the white oval tabletop with a length of 240cm (94.49 in) the industrial look of the base construction and legs is beautifully exposed. How the four circular legs lift the top up in a graceful way is rather striking. A certain playful touch is added with the big circular feet with a black frame.
