The base of this center table is formed out of a layered pillars that seem exist of several pillars in a row, clearly a reference to the architectural aesthetics of Carlo Scarpa. The circular granite table top shows a naturally patterned top that resembles a landscape. The use of such luxurious, classic materials as solid travertine and granite was rather innovative. The 1970s in Italy was the time of informal objects and the production of plastic furnishings. But this new tendency anticipated on classic shapes and expensive, durable materials that would in fact proof to have a significant success in the following years.
