Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax, cabinet, wood, mahogany, metal, Belgium, design 1952

Early example of Industrial Design from the Belgium modernist stream, designed by Willy Van Der Meeren. Originally designed for use in school buildings, this cabinet is nowadays approved to be used in any context. The cubic appearance of the cabinet has a playful character due to the two sliding doors in blue and grey. Through wooden handles you can access the inside with multiple shelves. The handles also visually connect the doors with the sides in mahogany veneer. Please note that patina is visible that contributes to the character of the piece.

Willy Van Der Meeren (1923-2002) was a Belgian architect and furniture designer. A true modernist with a high social commitment. His designs are characterized by a modern approach and simplicity in forms and materials.
