Cabinet, in glass and oak, France, 1940s.

Nice detailed cabinet in cerused oak with glass vitrine sliding-doors. The high storage part consists of a vitrine part, with two glass shelves and a mirrored back. The lower part is a cabinet with two doors. This cabinet was designed with high attention to details, the doors have some nice wooden panels on the front, such as the outside of the cabinet. The smaller layered base is an elegant addition to the quite solid cabinet.

This vitrine has a sturdy appearance, and is more robust then most Art Deco cabinets. Designers Charles Dudouyt, Jean-Charles Moureux and Gaston Poisson were masters in this style. They combined the more feminine and refined Art Deco style with graphical patterns and masculine elements.
